Firefighters fought for more than seven hours to control flames that gutted a pub in the heart of Chelsea.

Fire broke out in the building on King's Road just after 2100 BST on Sunday and was finally extinguished after 0400 BST.

Three people fled the flames before the fire brigade arrived with seven fire engines. No-one was injured.

King's Road remained closed at 0700 BST as firefighters continued to damp down hot spots.

Up to 40% of the ground floor was destroyed, while there was partial damage to the first, second and third floors.

The flames were spread by the external ducting.

A restaurant in a Worcestershire town has been destroyed by fire.

About 30 firefighters were called to the incident at the Bhan Thai restaurant in Wells Road, Malvern.

Three storeys were affected. The cause of the fire is being investigated by Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service.

The restaurant's owner, Andrew Moseley, said the fire started in the kitchen. "There's nothing left - it's all gone," he said.

Two fire engines each, from Malvern, Worcester and Ledbury, Herefordshire, and a structural engineer went to the scene.

Some people left their homes and others were told to keep windows and doors shut.

Mr Moseley said: "The fire started in the kitchen. They couldn't put it out and they were told to evacuate the premises immediately.

"Then it caught hold and it went up through the ducting into the roof space and then it's taken the whole of the roof and the first floor."

The fire service was called at about 1325 BST.
